We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains what data Klano processes when you visit this website and use the service.

1. Controller

2. Server log files

When you access the website, information transmitted by your browser is automatically recorded (IP address, date/time, page accessed, user agent). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation). Retention period: a maximum of 14 days.

3. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

4. Account & service use

To use Klano, we process the data you provide at registration (name, email, company) as well as the content required to deliver the service (e.g. connected website, search data). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract).

5. Services used

Depending on usage, additional processors may be involved, e.g. payment processing (Stripe), email delivery (Hostinger), AI services for content creation, and the product analytics described in section 5.1. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR respectively.

5.1 Product analytics (PostHog, EU)

We optionally use PostHog (EU cloud, Frankfurt) to improve Klano. No data is collected before you give consent in the cookie banner (opt-in, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you decline, data collection remains permanently disabled.

• Events: Page views and voluntarily triggered product events (no autocapture).
• Session replay: Only after opt-in and only within the logged-in area under /dashboard. Recording does not take place on marketing, login, or registration pages. Input fields are masked.
• Person profiles: Only for logged-in users, after identification via the user ID.

A data processing agreement is in place with PostHog. Retention and deletion follow the settings in the PostHog project (currently a maximum of 30 days).

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Please contact hallo@klano.io.
